Russell’s bird to play Smurfette in new film…

Everyone’s favourite sexy cartoon character* has had a 21^st century make-over in the form of everyone’s favourite girl kissing pop princess.

According to reports, Katy Perry has just agreed to a starring role in the upcoming Smurfs movie, becoming Smurf villages’ only female resident, Smurfette.

Throughout the eighties the little blue bombshell had everyone from Papa Smurf (Fritzl) to pre-pubescent boys the world over in a cold sweat… and who better to bring sexy Smurfette back than the lady famous for her love of girl kissing antics.

Famously once described as “kiddie cocaine”, the cartoon series will hit the big screen next year, giving eighties babies the chance to dabble in a spot of nostalgic TV smack (Smurf-crack).

Talking of classic childhood TV, here at RWD HQ we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the powers that be re-make the likes of Fraggle Rock, He-Man and Sharky and George (we guarantee you’ve got the theme tune in your head right now!).
