Global radio station Xfm will be doing a full playback of the new Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach, Tuesday 2 March at 12pm – 2pm…

The animated band will be releasing their new album out on Monday 8 March but XFM will be giving listeners an advanced preview – by preview we mean they’re going to be playing every single track in full on Tuesday 2 March. The exclusive show be hosted by DJ John Kenndy and will be joined by Gorillaz member Murdoc.

Head of Xfm radio Mike Walsh is excited about his station being the first ones to play their new album saying “Xfm is honoured to have some exclusive time with the legend that is Murdoc Niccals. Plastic Beach is a landmark album – a work of genius that will doubtlessly be one of the albums that 2010 will be remembered for. We can’t wait for Murdoc to treat Xfm listeners to the global first full play of this incredible album.”

Murdoc himself released a statment saying “Listen up, right. I’ve let Captain James ‘John’ Kennedy have my amazing new Gorillaz album Plastic Beach. He’s going to play it out on XFM this coming Tuesday and I’ll be there with him to tell him all about it. Be there or be square. Over and Out!”

Plastic Beach will feature the likes of Kano, Bashy and De La Soul and their first single of the new album Stylo featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack is out now. Head over to the Xfm website for more details.
