As varsity jackets go you can’t get any better than Nike’s Destroyer jacket, launched this week, the limited edition jacket is available at Selfridges and Nike’s 1948 concept store. For those wondering, ‘Where have I seen this before?’ you may have noticed Giggs sporting one of the exclusive Destroyer jackets on our latest cover.

Nike began working on the design for the Destroyer jacket way back in 2006 delving into their archive of All Conditions Gear to find the perfect fabrics, laminates and right bonding methods to re-work the classic 50’s American College jacket.

The Destroyer still holds the traditional peacoat bomber characteristics but also boasts laser cut designs, bonded zipper and Thermore fill (to keep you all nice and warm) whilst its water repellent body keeps you dry. Keeping to the classic Nike monochrome the six London edition Destroyer jackets differ merely by accents of red, blue and yellow detailing and the customary emblems.

The NYC edition of the Destroyer jacket launched successfully in December, where there were only 21 up for grabs, so be sure to be quick if you want to get your hands on the London edition.
