In an interesting marketing move, earlier this week Umbro joined forces with Kasabian to launch the new England away shirt at a gig… in Paris!!!

On Monday night, English indie/ rock giants Kasabian made history by becoming the first ever band to launch an England football shirt, in front of thousands of unsuspecting French fans during their encore at the Paris Olympia theatre.

The lead singer and guitarist, Tom Meighan, wore the away strip (which is red AGAIN surprise, surprise) during their encore of their hit Fire. The shirt will feature as the Nations’ away kit for the World Cup in South Africa later this year and Umbro decided there was no better place to launch an away shirt than away from home!

Tom said: “When Umbro approached us to represent England away we jumped at the chance as we are all football fans and loved the idea of revealing the England away shirt when playing in the country of one of our great footballing rivals.”

Good on ya’ Kasabian! It must have taken guts to take it to the French in their own soil! View the blatant advert footage below…
