FASHION : K-Swiss Link Up With 8 of the World’s Best Graphic Designers

Written by Danny Walker on 24 Feb 2010

Between 1966 and 1986 – that’s 20 years people – K-Swiss sold one, single shoe: The Classic. During that time The Classic evolved from being the world’s most advanced shoe on the tennis court to being the first high-performance white leather trainer to walk the streets of California.

Now K-Swiss have linked up with EIGHT top graphic designers for the ‘You Gotta Know Your Classics’ campaign. In this project they’ve narrated the history of The Classic on the back of eight limited-edition posters. Designed by Mario Lombardo, Value & Service, Cobbenhagen & Hendriksen, Non-Format, Grand People, Sulki & Min, Mark Owens / Life Of The Mind and Fabian Jenny. With the designers hailing from Los Angeles, London, Berlin, Seoul, Amsterdam and Oslo, each poster – which has been printed double-sided – represents a chapter in The Classic’s story on the back, and a graphic visualization of that story on the front.

ONLY 400 copies of each poster have been printed so you’ll have to be a mega loyal fan to get your hands on one. For more check kspace.tv.
