NEWS : J.Lo Dropped By Record Label

Written by RWD on 23 Feb 2010

She may have the best bumper in the business, but that hasn’t stopped Jenny from the Block being dropped like it’s hot by her record label…

According to a Hollywood gossip site conflicting reports suggest that the singer’s 11 year contract with Sony had ended, whilst others continue to insist Sony unceremoniously dumped poor old J.Lo, with worries that following time out of the bizz to have kids, her former fan-base has now grown up and moved on to acts like Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyonce.

There is also disagreement about how finished her upcoming album was before it was cancelled. Originally scheduled to be released back in January, the date was then pushed back to April with production from the likes of Darkchild and The Neptunes, but has now been scrapped due to a lack of interest in singles such as Louboutins and Everybody’s Girl.

However, fans of the Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer need not worry, as if rumours are to be believed, the woman famed as the richest Latin American in Hollywood is already in talks with Island Def Jam’s bigwig L.A. Reid. According to Rap-Up.com Lopez’s manager Benny Medina confirmed the news, “Jennifer had a wonderful relationship with the Sony Music Group, and they have shared many successes together, but the time was right to make a change that best serves the direction of her career as an actress and recording artist, she is grateful and appreciative to everyone at Sony for all that they accomplished together”.
