Hope for Haiti Now is a Global Benefit concert to raise money for people affected by the recent earthquake. The quake that hit the country on 12 January has shocked the world, and musicians around the globe have got together to try and help.
It’s not an easy thing to do, but MTV have gathered artists to perform around the world to raise the money this weekend, and the list of performances are amazing. New York sees Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting. In LA the likes of Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder and Taylor Swift will be doing their thing. While in London, we’ll be treated to Coldplay as well as a MASSIVE group performance by all-round charity warriors Bono and The Edge, hip hop superstar Jay-Z and the beautiful Rihanna.
All the performances will be happening around the world this Friday and will be recorded and easily available on iTunes with all the money going to Haiti Relief Funds. With more than 100 names from film, television and music, like Beyonce and George Clooney all coming together to try and make a difference, it should be huge.
